ORDINANCE NO. 121, <br /> (New Series) <br /> <br />All ORDINANCE A1;NULI,ING AND DECLARING FOI~EITED A <br /> <br /> TION OF THE FRAE0tI!SE GRAIlT~]D IR~DER ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br /> 183 OP THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE. <br /> <br /> YfHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 183 of the Cdty of Riverside, <br />duly adopted by the Board of Trustees of said City on the ?th day <br />of November, 1894, a franchise was granted to the Riverside <br />Gas & Electric Light Company, a corporation, for the lo. ying of <br />pipes and conduits in the public streets of the said City of <br />Riverside, and to ~ake connections with said pipes and conduits <br />so far as it might be necessary or convenient for the purpose 6f <br />introducing and supplying s~id City and its inhabitants with <br />gas or othe~J illuminating agent for the purpose of artificial <br />lighting and for fuel, and else granting the rig~t aha privilege <br />to construct and m~intain underground conduits for the purpose of <br />containing wires, mhd to erect poles, and to string wires there- <br />on for the purpose of supplying sa~d City and the inhabitants <br />thereof r~ith electricity and electric lights and such other bene- <br />ficial uses as might be desired by said C~ty and its inhmbitants, <br />and <br /> <br /> '~'JHEREAS, the said Riverside Gas & Electric Light ~orGpar~, <br />or its successors a~d assigns, have failed to avail the~selves of <br />the right and prJvile~'e granted by said Ordinance in so far as the <br />laying of pipes and conduits for the pur~ose of containing wires, <br />or the erection of poles and stringing wires thereon for electric <br />purposes, 8nd <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Riverside Gas & Electric Light ~o~npany has <br />failed fey r~ore than ten years to lay said conduits or erect said <br />poles' or string said wires for electric purposes, and has failed <br />durinm_said ti~e to furnish said ele~tricity for any purpose to the <br />said City or its inhabitanbs, <br /> <br /> <br />
