~ J (New Series)" ~ An ordinance restraining the running at large o£ certain animals and for other purposes relating thereto. The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Riverside do or. dain as follows: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person owning having charge of any horse, mare, gelding, Jack, mule, sheep, hog, goat, cow, calf, steer, bull, or unlicensed dog, te permit any such animal or animals to run at lar.ge at any time wlthin the corporate limits of the City of Riverside, and such animal or animals mentioned as aforesaid, running at large within the corporate limits of said city are hereby saverally defined and declared to be nuisances. Section 2. If any such animal shall be found running at large, as aforesaid, it is hereby made the duty of the Chief of Police or any policeman to t-~l:e up and confine the same in the Public Pound, and any person may take up any such animal or animals and empound the same, and no such animal or animals shall be released until tile owner or person entitled to the possession thereof shall pay to the Poundmaster the sum of One Dollar as his fee for taking up or receiving each of said animals, fifty cents of which sum s]mll be paid to the person or persons taking up each of said animals and surrendering them or any of them into the custody of the Poundmaster, and, in.addition thereto, the Poundmaster may charge a snm not to exceed fifty cents a day for each and every day such animal shall be kept by him, as aforesaid, which sum sl~ll also be paid by the owner or. person entitled to the possession thereof. Any person or persons who shall leave any animal or animals attached to a vehic~le unhitched or unsecured in any public place in this city, unless some person is left in charge of such animal or animals, shall be considered guilty of allowing such animal ~'..~ or' animals to run at large, and such unsecured animal or animals shall be considered and treated as running at large, pursuant to
