ORDiNANOE NO .' 143 <br /> <br />(New Sez'ieo) . <br /> <br /> All ORDINAi:CE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE BJ~ENDING <br />SEOTiOll 18 OF ORDINANOE 110. 17 (!~EW SERIES). <br /> <br /> The mayor and common council of the Oity of <br />Riverside do ordain as follows:- <br /> <br /> Section 1. Section 18 of Ordinance ilo. 17 <br />(llew Series) of the City of Rive','eide, approved January <br />8, 1908, is hereby amended to road as follows:- <br /> <br /> "Section 18. FR~d.,'E BUiLDiNGS: All frame <br />dwellings in the City of Riverside shall be fo','med with <br />studding and covered with ~-astio sheathing, boards, <br /> <br />shingles or any .... of some <br /> a~'rangemen~ materials equally <br /> <br />substanti~ on the outside. <br /> <br /> In a one-story fr~une building, having studs <br />not more than ten feet in length, 2 x 3s may be used for <br />the outside walls. <br /> <br /> In one and one-half and two-story frame build- <br />ings, all outside walls and all beaming partitions must <br />be 2 x l~ inch studding. In non-bearing partitiSns in <br />these buildings 2 x 3"etude may be used. <br /> <br /> So-called "California Houses" over one story in <br />height, must have 2 x 4 inch studded frame, the same as <br />plastered houses. For buildings of three stories in <br />height the studding shall not be less than 2 x 6 inch <br />scantling.
