The l.'.ayor and Comr,',on Council of the City of Riverside, do ordain ae follows: Section 1. It sha]] be unlawful for every ha~vker, peddler or itinerant or transient merchant to sell or offer for sale, to any minor child attending any of the Public Schools v;ithin the limits of the City of Riverside, ice-cream, soda-I;op, ginger ale, chewing gum, peanuts, candies or any ~imilar articles on streets or public places within four hundred feet of the exterior bound- a~-ies of land, on xvhich is located any school building within the limits of the City of Riverside, between the hours of 8 A. 1~. and 4 P. ~. of any school day. Section 2. Any violation of the provisions of this Ordinance shall constitute a misdemeanor and every person found guilty of violating said provisions or any of them, shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in the sum of not more than Th~'ee Hundred (~300.00) Dollars or be imprisoned in the City Jail of said City for not more than three months, or be punished by both such fine and imprisonment.
