iOrdinance ~o. ~18 <br /> <br />amended by O-158~ I ORDINANCE NO. 218 <br />adopted 1-30-51 (New ~eries .~----- <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PLANTING HENOVAL AND <br /> CARE OF TREYS AND SHRUBS IN THE 8TBEETS <br /> OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE. <br /> <br /> The Hayer and Common Council of the City of River- <br />side do ordain as follows:- <br /> <br /> Section 1. No trees or shrubs shall hereafter be <br />planted in the public streets of the City of Riverside, excpp% <br />under the direction of the Board of Park Co~mdssioners of <br />said City. <br /> <br /> Section 2. No trees or shrubs planted or growing in <br />the public streets of said city shall be removed except by the <br />permission of said Board of Park Commissioners, and no trees <br />in the streets shall be cut, pruned or trio's, ed, except under <br />the direction of said Board; nor shall anyone not authorized <br />by the Board of Park Cor~m',issioners trench around or alongside <br />of any tree, plant, or shrub, with a view to cutting the roots <br />of the same. <br /> <br /> ~ection 3. S~.id Board of Park Commissioners shall <br />exercise general care and supervision over all trees in the <br />streets of said City, and shall select the variety of trees <br />hereafter to be planted in the streets of said city. <br /> <br /> Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions <br />contained in Sections numbered 1 and £ of this ordinance shall <br />be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by ~ <br />fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), or be imprison- <br />ed for not exceeding thirty days, or by both such fine and <br />imprisonment, <br /> <br />Page 1. <br /> <br /> <br />
