That in adaltlon to the holidays established by the <br />legislature of the State of California, and particularly specified in Sec- <br />tion 10 of the Political Code, every Saturday morning from 12 o, clock mid- <br />night until 12 o'clock noon, shall be and is hereby constituted as a legal <br />holidayw~thin the City of Riveffside for the officers and employees of <br />said City. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That it is declared that this Ordinance is an <br />emergency Ordinance m~d shall take effect i~uediately; that the reasons <br />for such emergency are as follows~ <br /> <br /> That beginning July 1, 1932, a working schedule for the emplo- <br />yees of the City of Riverside, has been established on the basis of a 40 <br />hour week, consisting of five (~) days of eight (8) hours each, and it is <br />impossible to propePiy operate certain departments of the City for more <br />thm~ five (5) days a week on such a schedule v&thout the employment of <br />additional help, m~d the financial condition of the City does not justify <br />such additional employment. <br /> <br /> That it is necessary that certain of the o£fioos::of/the city.-- <br />of Riverside be closed, excepting for five (5) days in each week, oommen- <br />clng on July 1, 1932. <br /> <br /> Section 5. The City Clerk Shall certify to the adoption of <br />this Ordinance and shall cause the some to be posted On &he Bulletin <br />Board ab the City Hall, <br /> <br /> I, fl.
