That in adaltlon to the holidays established by the legislature of the State of California, and particularly specified in Sec- tion 10 of the Political Code, every Saturday morning from 12 o, clock mid- night until 12 o'clock noon, shall be and is hereby constituted as a legal holidayw~thin the City of Riveffside for the officers and employees of said City. Section 2. That it is declared that this Ordinance is an emergency Ordinance m~d shall take effect i~uediately; that the reasons for such emergency are as follows~ That beginning July 1, 1932, a working schedule for the emplo- yees of the City of Riverside, has been established on the basis of a 40 hour week, consisting of five (~) days of eight (8) hours each, and it is impossible to propePiy operate certain departments of the City for more thm~ five (5) days a week on such a schedule v&thout the employment of additional help, m~d the financial condition of the City does not justify such additional employment. That it is necessary that certain of the o£fioos::of/the city.-- of Riverside be closed, excepting for five (5) days in each week, oommen- clng on July 1, 1932. Section 5. The City Clerk Shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the some to be posted On &he Bulletin Board ab the City Hall, I, fl.
