FOa-BE~O~ 'POR- ' ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ <br />poSE8 'AND pROViDY~0' pENAL~E8 FOR "-.% ~ /fi~ <br />VIOLATION ~REOF. % ~ <br /> <br /> The Mayor and Council of'the Oity of Riverside do ordain <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1: For the purpose of this Ordinance, the following <br />words vnd phrases shall have the meaning as in this section set <br />forth: <br /> <br /> (a) The words "intoxicating liquor" wherever Used in this <br />Ordinm~ce shall be construed to include alcohol) brandy, whisky~ <br />rum, gin, beer, ale, porter, and wine and any spirituous, vinous, <br />malt or fermented liquor, liquids and compounds, whether medicated, <br />proprietary, patented or not and by whatever name called, which <br />contain one-half of one percent or more of alcohol by volume <br />sad which are potable or-capable of being used for beverage pur- <br />poses. <br /> <br /> The following articles shall not, after having been manufao- <br />tured and prepared for the market be included in the definition <br />of "intoxicating liquor" or be subject to the provision of this <br />Ordinance if they correspond with the following descriptions and <br />limitations, viz: <br /> <br /> 1. Denatured alcohol or denatured rum produced and used as <br />provided.by the laws of the United States or the regulations of <br />the Commissioner of Internal Revenue of the united States. <br /> <br /> 2. Medicinal preparations manufactured in accordance with <br />formulas prescribed by the United States Pharmacopoeia, National <br />Formulary or the American Institute of Homeopathy that are unfit <br />for beverage purposes. <br /> <br /> S. Patented, patent and proprietary medicines that are unfit <br /> <br /> <br />
