THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF REVENUE NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1969, AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1970; AND DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASUHE. The City Council of the City of'Riverside does ordain as ~ollowS: Section 1: That the amount o£ revenue necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property in the City of R~ver$ide, California, to support the various departments of the City, and to pay principal and interest on its bonded indebtectaess as it matures, and to provide revenue sufficient to meet all obligations.of the City to the Public Employees' Retirement System for the retirement of city employees and for Old Age Survivor's Disability Insurance, to provide revenue for library purposes, and to provide revenue for capital outlay (street improvement) purposes, all for the fiscal year beginning JUly 1, 1969, and ending June 30, 1970, be and the same is hereby fixed in the amount of $3,082,610, after allowing for estimated tax delinquencies. Section 2: This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety as said terms are used in Section 412 of the Charter of the City of Riverside, and shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. The reason for the urgency is that the assessment, collection and enforcement of the property taxes of the City of Riverside will be placed in Jeopardy in the event this ordinance does not become effective prior to September 1, 1969, as required by law. Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in ~ePress.
