The City Council of the City of Riverside does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Section 7 of Ordinance No. 3608 is hereby amended to read as follows: " Unless the Police Chief is satisfied from the investigation that the applicant is not of good moral character, he shall within thirty days notify the Finance Director that he has completed his investigation and that, insofar as the investigation is concerned, a license may be issued. If the Po]ice Chief is unable to complete his investigation within thirty days, he may extend the period of investigation for up to two additional thirty-day periods provided he or the Finance Director notifies the applicant that the investigation is not completed. If the Police Chief determines that the applicant is not of good moral character and so advises the Finance Director, the Finance Director shall refuse the license and notify applicant by mail a!~d advise him of his right to appeal within ten.days. SECTION 2: Section 9 of Ordinance No. 3608 is hereby %mended to read as follows: " Unless the Police Chief is satisfied from his investigation that the applicant is not of good moral character, he shall within thirty days notify the Finance Director that he has completed his investigation and that, insofar as the investigation is concerned, a certificate of registration may be issued. If the Police Chief is unable to complete his investigation within thirty days, he may extend the period of investigation for up to two additional thirty-day periods provided he or the Finance Director notifies the applicant that the investigation is not completed. If the Police Chief determines that the applicant is not of good moral character and so advises the Finance Director, the Finance Director shall refuse the certificate and notify applicant by mail and advise him of his right to appeal within ten days. SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in The Press This ordinance shall become effective on the 30th day after the date of its adoption.
