ORDINANCE NO. 3692 <br /> <br />AN'ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AMENDING <br />IN 'ITS ENTIRETY TITLE 18 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE, CONTAINING <br />REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES FOR SUBDIVIDING LAND AND RELATED ACTIVITIES, <br />PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br />PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Riverside, Riverside County, State of <br />California, does ordain as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: Title 18 of the Riverside Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />t ~~.s entirety, and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- <br />flict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are <br />hereby repealed, prov£ded, however, that this repeal shall neither <br />affect nor prevent the bringing of any civil or criminal action or <br />proceedings against any person or entity for any act done or for any <br />failure to act when such act or failure is in violation of or is re- <br />quired by the proviszons of title 18 prior to the effective date of <br />this ordinance or [he provisions of any other ordinance or ordinances <br />hereby repealed prio~ to the effective date of this ordinance. <br /> <br />All proposed land divisions or subdivisions wherein a tentative map <br />has been filed with the City prior to the effective date of this <br />ordinance may be processed in accordance with the provisions of title <br />18 of the Riverside Municipal Code in existence prior'to the effective <br />date of this ordinance. <br /> <br />SECYION 2: Title 18 of the Riverside Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />~-~ts entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER '18.04 GENERAL <br /> <br />18.04.010 PURPOSES <br /> <br />This title is adopted pursuant to the Subdivision Map Act of the State <br />of California, be[n~ Chapter 2 of Part 2 of Division 4 of the Cali- <br />fornia Business and Professions Code, to regulate and control the <br />~!esi§n and improvement of subdivisions, and in order to achieve the <br />following purposes: <br /> <br />To assist in implementing the Riverside General Plan adopted <br />by the City Council as a long range, general, comprehensive <br />guide to the physical development of the City. <br /> <br />B. To provide lots of sufficient size and appropriate design for <br /> the purposes for which they are to be used. <br /> <br />To provide streets of adequate capacity and design for the <br />traffic that will utilize them and to ensure maximum safety <br />for pedestrians and vehicles. <br /> <br />D. TQ provide sidewalks and, where needed, pedestrianways for the <br /> safety and convenience of pedestrians. <br /> <br /> <br />
