Council of the City of Riverside does ordain <br />as Follows: <br /> Section 1: Chap2er 5.52 of Title 5 of the Riversid~ <br /> <br />Municipal Code is. hereby amended in its entirety to read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />OltAPTER-5.52 <br /> MASSAOE <br /> <br /> 5.52. 010 LICENSE AND CERTII,'ICATE OF RIr, OISTRATION REQUIRED. <br />No person shall conduct or operate an establishment in which <br />the practice of massage is carried on for compensation or <br />from which he goes or another person is dispatched to <br />administer a massage at any other place for compensation~ <br />without obtaSning and maintaining in effect a license as <br />required by this chapter, nor shall he employ as a massagist <br />any person Who does not hold a current unrevoked certificate <br />of ' <br /> registration-required by this chapter. No person shall <br />practice massage for compensation without obtaining and main- <br />taining in-effect a certificate of registration as a massagist <br />as required by this chapter. <br /> <br /> 5.52;020 IIEALTII CERTIFICATE. Before issuing a certifi- <br />cate of registration, the Polic~ Chief shall submit tile name <br />and address of the applicant to the County llealth Officer and <br />shall advise tile app. licant that he or she must report for <br />examination. The Police Chief may not issue a certificate <br />of registration until he is advised that the ap'plicant has <br />been examined by the County }lealth Officer and has been found <br />to be f. ree of any contagious or communicable disease. <br /> <br /> 5.52.030 EXPERIENCE AND SCtlOOLING REQUIRED - TRAINING <br />CERTIFICATE. (a) Before issuing a certificate of registration, <br />the Police Chie£ shall require that the applicant provide <br />written proof that the applicant has had at least six months' <br />experience in the procession, work and method of treating the <br />external parts of the body for remedial or hygenic purposes <br />by rubbing, stroking, kneading, adjusting or tapping with the <br />hand or by instrument, or applicant must furnish a dil)loma <br />or certificate of graduation from a recognized school or <br />institution of learning wherein the method, profession and <br />work of massage is taught. The term "recognized school" <br />means and includes any school or institution which has for <br />its purpqse tile teaching of the theory, method, pro£ession <br />or work .of massagist, and which school requires a resident <br />course of study of not less than one hundred (100) hours to <br />be given in not less than three calendar months before the <br />student shall be furnished with a diploma or certificate of <br />graduation from such school or in,';titution of learning showing <br />the successful completion of such course of study or learning. <br /> <br />c|IY <br /> <br /> <br />
