For the purposes of this <br />~haPter 19.76, the following words and phrases shall have <br />the mean.ings respectively ascribed to them by this section. <br /> <br /> hBAIIDOIiED SIGN: Any sign which has been deserted <br /> and igs ef£ective use terminated and which no longer <br /> fulfills the purpose for %vhich it was constructed. <br /> <br /> AREA OF A SIGN: The area within a maximum of eight <br /> straight lines enclosing the entire pel'imeter o£ <br /> the sign including all text, emblems, arrows, orna- <br /> ments or other sign media. This definition shall <br /> also apply to 'area per display face', 'display <br /> area', and like terms. <br /> <br /> BULLETIN BOARD: A sign used to announce a Coming <br /> event or attraction, or used to convey a specific <br /> message related to the building or use of the <br /> property on which the bulletin board is located. <br /> In all zones, bulletin boards which are d.isplayed <br /> so as to be viewed from a public street or hi~hway <br /> or from an access drive, parking lot or mall shall <br /> be subject to the sign regulations of the zone ill <br /> which the building or property is located. <br /> <br /> CANOPY OR MARQUEE: A' fixed overheaa shelter used <br /> as a roof, %vhich may or may not be attached to a <br /> building. <br /> <br /> CANOPY OR MARQUEE SIGN: A sign attached to or <br /> hung from a canopy or marquee, but not projecting <br /> above the top of the canopy or marquee. <br /> <br />'COMi.IERCIAL SHOPPING CENTER: A group of commercial <br />uses planned and designed for the si~e on which <br />-they are built,, and having a shared and prePlanned <br />parking area, or having a common market interest, <br />and' occupying a site o~ hot less than 10 acres in <br />area. <br /> <br /> <br />
