'3764 <br />Atq oRb~NAN~E OF Tile cITY ~F RivERsID~.,.CALIFoRNiA, <br />AMENDINO SECTIONS 19.70;~30 AND 19.70.1;~0 OF THE <br />RIVERSIDE' MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATINO TO MAXIMUN <br />FENCE REIORT LIMITS IN FRONT AND STREET SIDE YARD <br />SETBACK AREAS. . <br />The city Council of .the City of Riverside does ordain <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Section 19.70.130 of the Riverside Municipal <br /> <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"19.7o.13o OPEN WORK FENCEs AND }{EDGES. Hedges, <br />landscape architectural features, including pa~ios, <br />open air grills and similar features~ or guard <br />railings for safety protection around depressed <br />ramps, not more than three feet in htight, may be <br />located in any front, side or rear yard. Chain <br />link or similar open work fences in such Yards may <br />project as high as four feet when all of that <br />structure above the three foot height limit shall have <br />a ratio of solid portion to open portion of one <br />part solid to three or more parts open, provided <br />such open fence shall not create a hinderance to <br />visibility regardless of the angle of view through <br />said fence; trees, shrubs, flowers or plants may <br />be located in any yard; provided, that such structures <br />or plants shall not materially obstruct the view <br />of a driver of a vehicle on a roadway approaching a <br />street intersection." <br /> <br />'Section 2: Section 19.70.1~0 of the Riverside Municipal <br /> <br />Code is hdreby amended ~o read as follows: <br /> <br /> "19.70.1q0 FENCES OR WALLS. A fence Or wall not <br /> more than six feet in height or a hedge, maintained <br /> so as not to exceed six feet in height,-may be located <br /> along the side or rear lot lines; provided, that such <br /> · fence, wall or hedge does not extend into a required <br /> front yard or into a side yard along the street side <br /> of a corner lot closer to the front lot line than the <br /> rear of the main building in which case such fence or <br /> wall shall be limited to three feet in height; and. <br /> provided further, that this prqvision shall not be <br /> so interpreted as to prohibit the erection of a fence <br /> _enclosing a school site if such fence does not project <br /> beyond the front line of the building nor to prohibit <br /> the erection of an enclosure around an electric utility <br /> building or structure as required by any law or regu- <br /> lation of the state, subject, however, to the approval <br /> in writing of the Planning Commission of the type .of <br /> enclosure to be constructed in any 'C' Zone." <br /> <br /> Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the'adoption <br />of this ordinance an~ cause it to be published once in <br />the Press.
