" Code; and WHEREAS said "model rockets" are defined as nOnProfeS- sional rockets which are'propelled by aPproVed commercially manufactured solid propellant englnes;' and WHEREAS said State regUiat~ons provide that no model rocket user may fire any model rocket engine from a~y Site withoUt first securing aUthorization to conduct this activity from the fire authority having jurisdiction in the'area where the model rocket is .to be used; and. WHEREAS said regulations are adequate to protect the pubiic~s health, safety and Weifare~' NOW, THEREFORE, the City CoUncil of the City of Riverside, California, do~s ordain as follows: Section 1: Subsection (2) of Section 9~08.0i0 of the Riverside Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows~ "(2) To carry or discharge firearms, to carry or discharge firecrackers, torpedoes or other fireworks, or to carry or discharge any air gun or pistol or any slingshot or similar deviCe~ or any bows and arrows, or to carry or use any whistle or other object calcUlated to make a noise sufficient to disturb the peace or quiet of the park or the wild fowl therein~ or to bring into any park any of the above Objects or articles, and if such objects or articles are brought into any public park, the Person so bringing them in will be subject to having them taken away from their person bY the Proper authorities;" Section 2~ The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in The Press.
