RESOLUTION No. 280 <br />(Neer Series) <br />.RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE DECLARING THAT THE <br />PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THAT SAID CITY INSURE " <br />AGAINST.LIABILITY CAUSED BY ACCIDENTS TO ITS EMPLOYEES, BY THE <br />CREATION OF A FUND THEREFOR. <br />WHEREAS, by an Act of the Legislature of the State of <br />California, approved May 26th, 1913, and which went into effect <br />-January let, 1914, and which Act is known as eWOREMENIS COMPEN- <br />SATION INSURANCE AND SAFETY AOT", the City of Riverside has <br />become liable to pay compensation to its employees injured in <br />the course of their employment, <br />Now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the public.iiiterest <br />and necessity require that the City of Riverside and its various <br />departments of public utilities, should carry its own insurance, <br />and <br />BE IT FURTHER POO bD, that a fund be, and the same is <br />hereby created to be known ae'%NSURANOE AND COMPENSATION FUND OF <br />THE CITE"OF RIVERSIDE$, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Auditor be and he in <br />hereby authorized and direoted to compute, in accordance with the <br />rules, regulations, methods and rates of the STATE COMPENSATION <br />INSURANCE FUND and the Pay'.R611, of each department of said City, <br />the annual amount which would be payable to said STATE COMPEN- <br />SATION INSURANCE FIVD, if said City had insured with se.id•FUND, <br />and to report thereon at the next meeting of the Common Council. <br />The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br />certify to the passage of this resolution, and to deliver a copy <br />of the same to the"'Auditor of the City of Riverside. - <br />Pape 1. <br />ti <br />
