WHEREAS, a petition: has been presented to the i,layor and Common Council of the City of Riverside, dated March 2~th, 1915, and signed by various owners of property through which t~,said City owns.an easement for the maintenance of the lower ~;;~ . :l;.Y~gating canal formerly oWnsd by the Ri versid.e Water Company, ;....P,.. ",.,.". but now owned by the said City, between Monroe street south to the junction of said lower canal with the upper canal of the Riverside Water Company, requesting the said City to abandon said portion of said canal, and agreeing .to save the said City harmless from all liability or demand whioh the signers of said petition might have against said City by reason of the existence of said lower canal between said limits. NO'lL THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Counoil ~the City of Riverside that, that portion of the lower irri- ,:,;.:. gating oanal from the southerly boundary line of Monroe Street and running through Lot 1 in Blook 31, Lots 15 - l~ - 11 and 12 in Block 2~, Lot 2g in Blook 26, Lots 1 - 2 - 6 and 5 in Blook 29 and Lots 8 -9 - 10 and 11 in Block 28, all in the lands of the Ri versid.eLand and Irrigating Company, be and the same is bereby.vao~ted and abandoned by said City.
