(NEW SERIES). {ALBERi"MiLLS"- <br />. ,. .' . qJgCI.,1r, <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COtnlCIL OF TIlE CITY OF RIVERSIDE.,' . <br />CALIFORNIA, REQu~STING FROM TIlE SECRETARY OF THE <br />INTERIOR All EXTENSION OF TUill WITHIN WHICH TO COII_ <br />'fRACT WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF ELECTRICAL ElIERGY FROM HOOVER DNA. <br /> <br />*** <br /> <br />'rHEREAS, the limit of the period of time vdthin which the City of <br />Riverside, California, is privileged to enter into oontract vdth the United <br /> <br />States of America, by its Seoretary of the Interior, for the purchase of an <br /> <br />allocation of electrical energy from the Hoover Dam, has been fixed at the <br /> <br />15th day of April. 19B1; and <br /> <br />Yi'HEREAS, it is necessary that the City of Riverside contract vdth the <br /> <br />City of Los Angeles and its Department of Water and Po~er for the transmission <br /> <br />of said electrical energy; and <br /> <br />l~dEREAS, the said City of Los Angeles and its Department of Water and <br /> <br />Power did, on the 24th day of January, 1931, ror the first time, make a r6- <br /> <br />quirement that all municipalities, including the City of Riverside, pay to <br /> <br />the sai.d City of' Los Angeles and its Department of Water and Power thoir pro- <br /> <br />portionate shares of tho initial investment and construotion costs of the <br /> <br />eleotric transmission line to be constructed by the City of Los Aneeles and <br /> <br />20 its snid Department, upon the execution of the oontract for tho transmission <br /> <br />21 of said electrical energy "lith the said City or Los Angeles and its said <br /> <br />22 Department; and <br /> <br />23 l'ffiEP~S, it is not ~~thin the contemplation of Article 20 of the proposed <br />24 contract between the United States and the City, or the provisions of. Article <br />25 25 of the oontract between the United States and the City and the Company, or <br /> <br />1 26 vlithin the previous understanding of any of' said municipalities in thei:r con- <br />27 vcrsaticns ~~th the Seoretary of the Interior or the City of Los Angelos that <br /> <br />28 the said municipalities, including the City of Riverside, shall be required to <br />29 pay such proportionate shares of the initial investment in the said electric <br />30 tranBmissi~n line construction, as proposed by the~said City or Los Angoles; <br /> <br />31 and <br />'1.,- <br />
