<br />Y'iHETIEAS, the Board of Public Utilities of the City of Hlverside,
<br />
<br />California, did, the 27th day of April, 1931, at an adjourned ref,ular
<br />
<br />meeting, by unanimous vote, adopt a resolution, rejecting a certain pro-
<br />
<br />posal of the Riverside Water Co., which resolution is of reoord in the
<br />minutes of said meeting of svSd Board,' a.nd which j.s horein set forth in
<br />
<br />full as follows, to-\rlt~

<br />U\'I1IEREAS, the City of Riverside has heretofore riled
<br />a request \.,.ith the Riverside 'liatet' Company that saiel Com-
<br />pany reake delivery of the water, appurtenant to certain
<br />lands mvned by the City and represented by 168 shares of
<br />capital stock of suid Company issued in the narr~ of the
<br />City, at a point in the city water sy-stern. where said water
<br />can be taken 'without pollution, and,
<br />
<br />YffiERE&~J a cowJnittee of said Riverside Water Company
<br />has submitted, under date of l'~nreh 9th, 1931,a proposal,
<br />void on and after IJay 1st, 1931, which, without recognizine
<br />the c1ailil of the City, contains an offer of the sale of' 28
<br />inches of water, being the amount of w-ater represented by the
<br />168 shares of capital stock of the Riverside Water Company
<br />held by the City, as fixed by said Comp~ny, for the Sl~
<br />of one dollar contingent upon the purchase by the City of
<br />72 inches of ~ater at $700.00 per inch, the aforesaid 100
<br />inches being n correla:ti ve l~ight, and the purchase of an
<br />additional 100 inohes of.~ater, to which the City shall
<br />have a pnrnmount and prior right, at $2,000.00 per inch,
<br />reforonce being hereby me-de to said proposal for the terms
<br />and conditions thereof, and,
<br />
<br />Wl-1:EP.EAS,. the Board of Public Utilities of said City
<br />of Riverside is of the opinion that the right of the City
<br />to receive the water, represented by its capital stock,
<br />at a point where it cnn be taken without pollution should
<br />be deterDined independent of any contingent purchases of
<br />water, and,
<br />
<br />YiliEr&;A~, the City has recently purchased lands for
<br />water development, some of ~hich have been partially
<br />developed vdth satisfactory results, and on which the
<br />3~id Board of PubliO Utilities believes it can produce
<br />much more ~~ter than the amoUnt involved in the above
<br />referred to proposal at a much less cost, and,
<br />
<br />VrrlBREAS, the Board of Public Utilities 'is of the
<br />opinion that the City should develop the lands already
