1 2 6 7 8 9 lO ll 12 Z3 15 16 17 ~8 19 20 21 22 23 2~ 25 26 27 RESOLUTION NO. 16358 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, TO PROVIDE THAT FEBRUARY 13, 1987 WILL BE A HOLIDAY KNOWN AS LINCOLN'S DAY FOR CERTAIN CITY EMPLOYEES RATHER THAN FEBRUARY 12th AS DESIGNATED IN SECTION 1 of RESOLUTION NO. 15810, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS Section 1 of Resolution No. 15810, as amended, sets forth the various authorized holidays for the employees of the City of Riverside; and WHEREAS said Section 1 provides that February 12th of each year shall be a holiday for certain City employees, which holiday shall be known as "Lincoln's Day"; and WHEREAS in February 1987, most City employees will observe two holidays, to wit: Thursday, February 12, 1987, as "Lincoln's Day" and Monday, February 16, 1987, as "Washington's Day"; and WHEREAS Lincoln's Day falls on a Thursday prior to a three-day weekend, and it is to the benefit of the employees and to the general public to move the Lincoln's Day holiday observ- ance to Friday, February 13, 1987, for this year only to allow for a full staff on Thursday, February 12, 1987, rather than the minimal staff which may otherwise work on Friday, February 13, 1987; and WHEREAS the employee groups representing the employees affected have concurred in the change in date for the observance of Lincoln's Day for this year only; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside that notwithstanding the designation of CITY ATTORNEY RIVERSIDE CALIFORNIA
