1 <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br /> 12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />~8 <br /> <br />~9 <br /> <br /> 20 <br /> <br /> 21 <br /> <br /> 22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5630 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, <br />AMENDING SECTION 10.12,010 OF THE RIVERSIDE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING THERETO A SUBDIVISION (d) <br />AUTHORIZING MEMBERS OF THE CERTIFIED TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />TEAM AS APPOINTED AND ASSIGNED TO DIRECT TRAFFIC; <br />AND AMENDING SECTION 10.12,030 TO ADD THAT IT SHALL <br />BE UNLAWFUL TO FAIL OR REFUSE TO COMPLY WITH A <br />LAWFUL ORDER, SIGNAL OR DIRECTION OF A CERTIFIED <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL TEAM MEMBER. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Riverside does ordain as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 10.12.020 of the Riverside Municipal <br /> <br />Code is hereby amended by adding thereto the following <br />subdivision (d) pursuant to authority granted in Section <br />21100(e) of the California Vehicle Code: <br /> <br /> "(d) The Chief of Police is authorized to certify <br />persons to be members of a Certified Traffic Control <br />Team for a period not to exceed one year. Such <br />certification may be renewed by the Chief of Police. <br />Administrative Rules for such certification and <br />recertification shall be maintained at the Riverside <br />Police Department. Members of the Certified Traffic <br />Control Team as are appointed and assigned by the Chief <br />of Police are authorized to direct all traffic by voice, <br />hand, or other signal in conformance with traffic laws <br />at events and locations designated by the Chief of <br />Police; providing that such Certified Traffic Control <br />Team member shall, while actually directing traffic, be <br />wearing insignia or clothing approved by the Chief of <br />Police." <br /> <br />Section 2: Section 10.12,030 of the Riverside Municipal <br /> <br />Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "10.12,030 OBEDIENCE TO TRAFFIC DIRECTION OF <br />AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL. No person shall fail or refuse to <br />comply with or to perform any act forbidden by any <br />lawful order, signal, or direction of a police officer, <br />fire department official, police cadet, school crossing <br />guard, school patrol member or Certified Traffic Control <br />Team Member." <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br />RIVERSIDE <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> <br />
