] <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> ? <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 10 <br /> <br /> 12 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />]7 <br /> <br />~8 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br /> 22 <br /> <br />28 <br /> <br />29 <br /> <br />31 <br /> <br />~.ESOLUTION NO. 11820 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFOI{NIA, PETITIONING THE BOARO OF <br />SUPERVISORS OF RIVERSIDE COUNTY FOR Tug EXCLUSION <br />FROM THE LEVY OF ANY PROPERTY TAX FOH STRUCTURAL <br />FIHE PHOTECTION OF ALL PUOPEHTY WITHIN THE LIMITS <br />OF THE CITY OF RIVEHSIDE, AS PROVIDED BY CALIFORNIA <br />GOVEHUMENT CODE SECTION 256;~3. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the State Legislature has adopted a statutory <br />pattern ind~cating a clear intent that taxes for support of <br />structural fire protection service should be borne by the property <br />benefitted by such services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the State Legislature has provided a means whereby <br /> <br />a City may petition the Board of Supervisors for relief from the <br />inequitable condition which results ~;hen cities have and pay for <br />adequate structural f~re protection service and are also taxed <br />by counties for the purpose of providing structural fire protection <br />in unincorporated areas of the county; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the State Legislature provided by Section 256113 <br />of the California Ooverl~mel]t Code that every city which provides <br /> <br />its own fire protection se~vices and which prior to March 1 of <br />a;]y year files with the Board of Supervisors a resolution declar- <br /> <br />lng that such city or district is providing fire protection <br />services within its Jurisdiction shall not he assessed during the <br />following fiscal year and any year thereafter for any portion of <br />the costs of county fire pi'otectio]] services; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT HESOL~ED, FOUND A~;I) DETERMI]}ED as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
