<br />1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 861 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />RNERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO <br />HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING <br />PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN THE <br />LA SIERRA/ARLANZA REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA FOR THE <br />SENIOR CENTER AT LA SIERRA PARK. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") <br />desires and intends to pay the cost for the construction and installation of public improvements <br />consisting of a 13,800 square foot Senior Center at La Sierra Park ("Improvements") within the <br />La Sierra/Arlanza Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project Area"); and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br />the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the <br />installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvements that is <br />publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, when the value of such land or the cost of the installation and construction <br />of such building, facility, structure or other improvement, or both, has been or will be provided <br />for initially by the City, the Agency may enter into a contract with the City under which it agrees <br />to reimburse the City for all or part of the cost of such building, facility, structure or other <br />improvement, or both; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will consist of a 13,800 square foot Senior Center, <br />complete with all infrastructure including a new disabled parking lot, drop-off area, patio space, <br />computer training and craft rooms, and visitor and service entrances; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding <br />neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will provide residents a modem facility with educational <br />and recreational resources and promote the health, safety and welfare of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the legislative body of the Agency has consented to the Agency's payment <br />of the cost of construction and installation of the Improvements; and <br /> <br />1 <br />
