<br />1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 860 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />RNERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO <br />HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING <br />PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN THE <br />LA SIERRNARLANZA REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA FOR THE <br />HUGHES ALLEY AND PARK SIERRA STREET IMPROVEMENTS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") <br />desires and intends to pay the cost for the construction and installation of public improvements <br />consisting of a landscaped median and the replacement of existing pavement on Hughes Alley <br />and the removal and replacement of deteriorated pavement on Park Sierra Avenue <br />("Improvements") within the La Sierra/Arlanza Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project <br />Area"); and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br />the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the <br />installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvements that is <br /> <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br /> <br />publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements on Hughes Alley will consist of the construction of a <br />landscaped median and the replacement of existing pavement. The landscaped median work <br />consists of the construction of median concrete curb, colored stamped concrete, planting, and <br />irrigation system. The work also involves the removal and replacement of damaged curb, gutter, <br />driveway, sidewalk, noncompliant wheelchair ramps, pavement striping and traffic detecting <br />loops. The Park Sierra Avenue improvements will consist of the replacement of deteriorated <br />pavement, damaged curb, gutter, driveway, sidewalk, noncompliant wheelchair ramps, pavement <br />striping and traffic detecting loops; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding <br />neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will aesthetically enhance Hughes Alley and Park Sierra <br />A venue, improve vehicular and pedestrian safety and promote the health, safety and welfare of <br />the community; and <br /> <br />1 <br />
