( , ( CITY "'TTOftH~Y II:I"."IIID'I: CALlfOftHIA 1 RESOLUTION NO .12974 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 2 AND 3 OF RESOLUTION NO. 12499;'AS AMENDED, TO REFLECT OVERTIME AND VACATION PROVISIONS FOR FORTY-EIGHT HOUR EMPLOYEES, AND TO PROVIDE FOR ACCUMULATION OF CO~WENSATORY TIME OFF IN LIEU OF PAID OVERTIME. 3 ~ 5 6 The City Council of the City of Riverside does resolve 7 as follows: 8 Section 1: Sections 2 and 3 of Resolution No. 12499, 9 as amended by Resolutions Nos. 12704, 12726, 12765, 12832, 12633, 10 12672, and 12956, are hereby further amended in their entirety 11 to read as follows: 12 " Section 2: OVERTHIE AND CALL TIME. 13 l~ (a) Overtime. It shall be the duty of all department heads to operate their respective depart- ments 11ith a minimum amount of overtime. If the best interests of the City require that an employee be employed beyond his regular working hours, every such employee shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half times his hourly rate, subject to the following limitations and exceptions: 15 16 17 18 (1) Each permanent full-time employee in the General Employee Unit when required to work emergency overtime between the hours of twelve midnight and seven a.m. shall he compensated at the rate of two times his hourly rate, and each permanent full-time employee in the Electrical Field Unit when required to work emergency overtime between the hours of twelve midnight and the start of said employee's shift shall be compensated at the rate of tlW times his hourly rate. This provision excludes all employees who work these hours on a regular scheduled shift. 19 20 21 22 23 2~ 25 26 (2) Each permanent full-time employee other than those employed forty-eight or more hours per week and other than Fire protection and Police enforcement may request compensatory time off for overtime worked in lieu of cash payment, subject to the approval by the department head; provided, however, accrued compensatory time off is limited at any point in time to forty-two normal working hours calculated by multiplying the number of hours of overtime worked by one and one-half; and provided, further, that a Public Service Department Refuse Collection employee shall also be compensated at the rate of one and one-half times the normal hourly rate when required to assIst in the completion of an additional route. i I, i ! 27 28 29 30 31 32
