<br />( <br />, <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />CITY "'TTOftH~Y <br />II:I"."IIID'I: <br />CALlfOftHIA <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO .12974 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 2 AND 3 <br />OF RESOLUTION NO. 12499;'AS AMENDED, TO REFLECT <br />OVERTIME AND VACATION PROVISIONS FOR FORTY-EIGHT <br />HOUR EMPLOYEES, AND TO PROVIDE FOR ACCUMULATION <br />OF CO~WENSATORY TIME OFF IN LIEU OF PAID OVERTIME. <br /> <br />3 <br />~ <br /> <br />5 <br />6 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Riverside does resolve <br /> <br />7 as follows: <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />Section 1: Sections 2 and 3 of Resolution No. 12499, <br /> <br />9 as amended by Resolutions Nos. 12704, 12726, 12765, 12832, 12633, <br />10 12672, and 12956, are hereby further amended in their entirety <br /> <br />11 to read as follows: <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Section 2: OVERTHIE AND CALL TIME. <br /> <br />13 <br />l~ <br /> <br />(a) Overtime. It shall be the duty of all <br />department heads to operate their respective depart- <br />ments 11ith a minimum amount of overtime. If the best <br />interests of the City require that an employee be <br />employed beyond his regular working hours, every <br />such employee shall be compensated at the rate of <br />one and one-half times his hourly rate, subject to <br />the following limitations and exceptions: <br /> <br />15 <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br />18 <br /> <br />(1) Each permanent full-time employee in the <br />General Employee Unit when required to work <br />emergency overtime between the hours of <br />twelve midnight and seven a.m. shall he <br />compensated at the rate of two times his <br />hourly rate, and each permanent full-time <br />employee in the Electrical Field Unit when <br />required to work emergency overtime between <br />the hours of twelve midnight and the start <br />of said employee's shift shall be compensated <br />at the rate of tlW times his hourly rate. <br />This provision excludes all employees who <br />work these hours on a regular scheduled <br />shift. <br /> <br />19 <br />20 <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br />23 <br />2~ <br />25 <br />26 <br /> <br />(2) Each permanent full-time employee other than <br />those employed forty-eight or more hours per <br />week and other than Fire protection and <br />Police enforcement may request compensatory <br />time off for overtime worked in lieu of cash <br />payment, subject to the approval by the <br />department head; provided, however, accrued <br />compensatory time off is limited at any point <br />in time to forty-two normal working hours <br />calculated by multiplying the number of hours <br />of overtime worked by one and one-half; and <br />provided, further, that a Public Service <br />Department Refuse Collection employee shall <br />also be compensated at the rate of one and <br />one-half times the normal hourly rate when <br />required to assIst in the completion of an <br />additional route. <br /> <br />i <br />I, <br />i <br />! <br /> <br />27 <br />28 <br /> <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />
