, , 1 RESOLUTION NO. 12973 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF,THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, REJECTING THE BID FOR TURNOUTS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT (29 EACH COATS AND 39 EACH PANTS), INASMUCH AS TilE BIDDER DID NOT COMPLY WITH CITY REQUIREMENTS, AND AUTHORIZING WAIVER OF FORMAL BIDDING AS REQUIRED BY RESOLU- TION NO. 12231 TO ACCEPT TilE LATE BID OF HOFFMAN ENTERPRISES. \. 3 ~ 5 6 7 8 WHEREAS the City of Riverside desires, to purchase turn- 9 outs for the Fire Department (29 each coats and 39 each pants); 10 and 11 WHEREAS under Bid No. 2686, the only bid received in 12 time to consider was the bid submitted by W. B. Equipment Company, 13 in the sum of $5,542.09, which did not comply with the City require- l~ ments and is rejected by the city; and 15 WHEREAS Hoffman Enterprises did submit a late bid in the 16 sum of $5,525.89, which would have been the low bid if submitted 17 in time for the City to consider under the formal bidding pro- 18 cedures; 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of 20 the City of Riverside that the bid for turnouts for Fire Depart- 21 ment (29 each coats and 39 each pants) from W. B. Equipment 22 Company be rejected and that the bidding requirements of Resolu- 23 tion NO. 12231 are hereby waived and authorization is hereby 2~ given for acquisition of said items on the open market. 25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing and stores 26 Manager be authorized to negotiate with Hoffman Enterprises to ( 27 purchase turnouts for the Fire Department at a total cost of 28 $5,525.89, including sales tax. 29 ADOPTED by the City Council and signed by the Mayor and' attested by the City Clerk this (,' Mayor 0 30 31 32 ay of 1977.
