~3 <br /> <br /> 14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />1G <br /> <br />l? <br /> <br />lB <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />2g <br /> <br />~? <br /> <br />3o <br /> <br />31 <br /> <br />32 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13589 <br /> <br /> A P~SOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, A~NDINU RESOLUTION NO. 12499, <br /> AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING PARAGRAPHS (3) AND (4) OF <br /> SUBSECTION (a) OF SECTION 2 THEREOF TO REFLECT REDUC- <br /> TION OF WOREING EOURS FOR FIREFIGHTERN TO 56 NOURS <br /> PER WEEK EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1979; BY AMENDING <br /> SUBSECTION (b) OF SECTION 3 TO REFLECT THE REDUCTION <br /> IN WORKING HOURS FOR FIREFIGETERS AND TO CORRECT TEE <br /> SCHEDULE FOR THE ACCUMULATION OF ANNUAL VACATION FOR <br /> THOSE EMPLOYEES IN THE FIRE UNIT EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, <br /> 1979; BY AMENDING SECTION 10 TO INCREASE THE CITY <br /> CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS HEALTH INSURANCE FOR THOSE <br /> EMPLOYEES IN THE POLICE UNIT AND POLICE MANAGEMENT <br /> UNIT (INCLUDING POLICE CHIEF) EFFECTIVE JANUARY 5, <br /> 1979; AND BY FURTHER ;~4ENDING SECTION 10 TO PROVIDE <br /> FOR A $5,000 LIFE INSURANCE PLaN FOE THOSE EMPLOYEES <br /> IN THE GENERAL UNIT EFFECTIVE JANUARY 5, 1979. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Riverside does resolve <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Subsection (a) of Section 2 of Resolution <br />No. 12499, as amended by Resolutions Nos. 12974, 12976 and <br />13177, is hereby a~ended by amending Paragraphs (3) add (4) <br />thereof to reflect a reduction of working hours for Firefighters <br />to 56 hours effective January 1, 1979, which paragraphs shall <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> "(3) Each pez~nanent full-time employee employed forty- <br /> eight or more hours per week (except Firefighters working <br /> a 56-hour week) may request compensatory time off for <br /> overtime worked in lieu of cash payment, subject to <br /> approval of the depar~ent head; provided, however, <br /> accrued compensatory time off is limited at any point <br /> in time to forty-eight normal working hours, calculated <br /> by multiplying the number of hours of overtime worked <br /> by one and one-half. <br /> <br /> (4) Firefighters shall be schedu]~d and paid their <br /> salaries on the basis of a 56-hour work week annualized <br /> over a calendar year. Time worked when required by <br /> constant manning shall be compensated at the same rate <br /> as that paid for regular working hours. Each permanent <br /> full-time Firefighter who is scheduled on the basis of <br /> a 56-hour work week and who is required to perform work <br /> in excess of his regularly scheduled working hours <br /> including constant manning, shall receive in lieu of <br /> payment of compensation, compensatory time off for each <br /> additional hour worked; provided, however, accrued com- <br /> pensatory time off is limited at any point in time to <br /> 56 normal working hours calculated by multiplying the <br /> number of hours of overtime worked by one and one-half; <br /> and provided further that overtime compensation shall <br /> be paid for such overtime accrued in excess of said <br /> 56 normal working hours at any point in time." <br /> <br /> <br />
