WHERA~AS the keeping of numerous records is not necessary after a certain period of time for the effective and efficient operation of the government of the City of Riverside; and WHEREAS Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California provides a procedure whereby any city record which has served its purpose and is no longer required may be destroyed; and WHEREAS the establis}wnent of a records retention proce- dure will facilitate the orderly and efficient transfer, reten- tion and destruction of the records of the City of Riverside; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside as follows: S~ction 1: Resolution NO. Section 2: The records of 12171 is hereby repealed. the City of Riverside shall every identifiable record produced or maintained by ment within one of the Records Retention Groups set Schedule A attached hereto. be categorized within one of the Records Retention Groups as set forth in Schedule A, which schedule is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Section 3: Each deparfmenf of the City of Riverside shall establish a departmental Records Retention Schedule. The departmental Records Retention Schedu]g shall place that depart- All departmental Records Retention Schedules and any amendments thereto shall be approved by the City Council of the City of Riverside.
