2 3 4 5 6 9 16 RESOLUTION NO. 14287 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE~ CALIFOPaNIA, AUTHORIZING WAIVER OW FOR~b%L BIDDING AS REQUIRED BY RESOLUTION NO. 1223] , AS ARENDED, WITH RESPECT TO EXECUTION BY THE CITY OF A CONT~LACT WITII WILLIAMS WATERPROOFING CO. FOR ADDITIONAL CORRECTIVE P~EPAIES TO THE CITY UALL BUILD- ING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COURSE OF ACTION RECOM- MENDED BY RURNAU-EVANS-RUHNAU ASSOCIATES. WHE~AS on August 26, 1980, the City Council adopted Resolution NO. 14163; and WHEREAS said resolution authorized waiver of formal bidding and authorized execution of a contract with a roofing consultant/contractor for corrective repairs to the sixth floor east deck patio area of the City }{all building in accordance with the course of action recommended by Ruhnau Evans-Ruhnau Associates at a cost not to exceed $6,000; and WHEREAS during the course of corrective repairs and final water leak testing of the repaired areas, it was observed that more leaks and sfructural deterioration has occurred around the perlmeker of the east stairwell, the deck slab and ceiling over the basement Records Retention storag~ room, and the base of the Council Chall~er curtain wall; and WHEREAS Ruhnau-Evans-Ruhnau Associates and Williams Waterproofing Co. have studied the additional structural deterioration and have recommended immediate remedial measures for these additional areas prior to the rainy season; and WHEREAS said additional repairs can be accomplished at a cost of $7,220, and will halt further deterioration; NOW, THEREFORE, BE I~ RESOLVED by the City Council of the C~ty ol Riverside that the b~dding requirements of Resolution NO. 12231 of the City of Riverside, as amended by Resolutions Nos. 12867, 13703, and 14029, are hereby waived and authorization is hereby given for the execution of a contract with Williams Waterprooling Co. for corrective repairs to the perimeter of
