<br />1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 838 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />RNERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO <br />HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING <br />PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS ADJACENT <br />TO THE UNNERSITY CORRIDOR/SYCAMORE CANYON <br />REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA [FUTURE WIDENING OF 14TH <br />STREET]. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") <br />desires and intends to acquire Assessor Parcel Nos. 221-084-004 and 221-084-005 within the <br />City of Riverside (the "Property") for the construction and installation of public improvements <br />consisting of the future street widening and re-construction of the sidewalks on 14th Street <br />("Improvements") adjacent to the University Corridor/Sycamore Canyon Redevelopment Project <br />Area (the "Project Area"); and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br />the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the <br />installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvement that is <br />publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will consist of the future street widening and re- <br />construction of the sidewalks on 14th Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding <br />neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will provide an aesthetic upgrade to the area, improve <br />traffic flow and promote the health, safety and welfare of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Property must be purchased to accommodate the Improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, the legislative body of the Agency has consented to the Agency's payment <br />of the value of land as described in this resolution; and <br /> <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agency, with consent of the legislative body, desires to pay the cost for <br />the value of land described in this resolution. <br /> <br />1 <br />
