Box 55560 <br />Riverside, CA 92517 <br /> <br />Subject: CITY COUNCIL RULES OF ORDER AND DECORUM <br /> <br />PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that City Council Resolution No. 20987 establishes the Rules <br />of Order and Decorum for the meetings of the Riverside City Council. Directing your attention to <br />section VII, paragraph A, members ofthe public attending the City Council meetings shall observe <br />the same rules of order and decorum applicable to the City Council and staff. In order to facilitate <br />the orderly, expeditious and efficient transaction of City business, members of the public must <br />preserve order and decorum and shall not, by conversation or otherwise, delay or interrupt the <br />proceedings nor refuse to obey the orders of the City Councilor the presiding officer. <br /> <br />I <br />PLEASE BE FURTHER ADVISED that your repeated interruptions, yells, shouting and <br />refusal to obey the orders of the presiding officer on January 9, 2007, once again constitute <br />violations of the City Council Meeting Rules, Furthermore, California Penal Code section 403 <br />provides that, every person who, without authority oflaw, willfully disrupts or breaks up any lawful <br />assembly or meeting, is guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br />You are therefore strongly encouraged to modify your conduct in accordance with the <br />attached City Council Meeting Rules so as not to continue to interrupt, delay or obstruct the City <br />Council's ability to transact its business.
