Box 55560 Riverside, CA 92517 Subject: CITY COUNCIL RULES OF ORDER AND DECORUM PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that City Council Resolution No. 20987 establishes the Rules of Order and Decorum for the meetings of the Riverside City Council. Directing your attention to section VII, paragraph A, members ofthe public attending the City Council meetings shall observe the same rules of order and decorum applicable to the City Council and staff. In order to facilitate the orderly, expeditious and efficient transaction of City business, members of the public must preserve order and decorum and shall not, by conversation or otherwise, delay or interrupt the proceedings nor refuse to obey the orders of the City Councilor the presiding officer. I PLEASE BE FURTHER ADVISED that your repeated interruptions, yells, shouting and refusal to obey the orders of the presiding officer on January 9, 2007, once again constitute violations of the City Council Meeting Rules, Furthermore, California Penal Code section 403 provides that, every person who, without authority oflaw, willfully disrupts or breaks up any lawful assembly or meeting, is guilty of a misdemeanor. You are therefore strongly encouraged to modify your conduct in accordance with the attached City Council Meeting Rules so as not to continue to interrupt, delay or obstruct the City Council's ability to transact its business.
