1 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> ? <br /> <br /> lO <br /> <br /> ll <br /> <br /> 12 <br /> <br />~3 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />~8 <br /> <br />~9 <br /> <br /> 20 <br /> <br /> 21 <br /> <br /> 22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />2~ <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5706 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, <br />AMENDING SECTION 3.14,160 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE TO INCREASE THE LOW INCOME REFUND PROVISIONS OF <br />THE UTILITY USER'S TAX ORDINANCE FROM ~25 TO ~35, <br />TO SET THE ANNUAL INCOME LIMITS PER HOUSEHOLD AT <br />~12,000, AND TO PROVIDE THAT ANY PERSON QUALIFYING <br />FOR A LOW INCOME UTILITY USER'S TAX ORDINANCE <br />REFUND CAN MAKE APPLICATION AND RECEIVE A 100% REFUND <br />FOR ANY ASSESSMENTS PAID UNDER THE CITY-WIDE 1972 <br />LANDSCAPE AND STREET LIGHT ASSESSMENT DISTRICT <br />ESTABLISHED IN 1988 BY THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Riverside does ordain as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Section 3.14.160 of the Riverside Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to increase the low income refund <br /> <br />provisions of the Utility User's Tax Ordinance from ~25 to ~35, <br /> <br />to set the annual income limits per household at ~12,000, and to <br />provide that any person qualifying for a low income Utility <br />User's Tax Ordinance refund can make application and receive a <br />100% refund for any assessments paid under the City-Wide 1972 <br /> <br />Landscape and Street Light Assessment District established in <br /> <br />1988 by the City of Riverside; said section shall read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br /> "3.14,160 REFUNDS - LOW INCOME. (a) A refund of <br />not to exceed thirty-five dollars of all taxes due and <br />paid under the provisions of this chapter for utility <br />services rendered on and after July 1, 1988 through <br />March 31, 1989, or for succeeding twelve-month periods <br />of April 1 through March 31, shall be made whenever all <br />of the following occur: <br /> <br /> (1) The annual gross income of the household in <br />which claimant lives is less than twelve thousand <br />dollars for the claimant's last preceding federal or <br />state personal income tax reporting period; <br /> <br /> (2) Claimant makes an application and files a <br />verified claim in writing at the Department of Finance <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br />RIVERSIDE <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> <br />
