ORDINANCE NO. 5788 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, <br />AMENDING SECTION 9.20,090 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE TO REFLECT THE CURRENT EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />STRUCTURE FOR SUCCESSION TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICES <br />DIRECTOR POSITION WHEN THE CITY MANAGER IS UNABLE <br />TO ACT AS THE INCIDENT COMMANDER IN A DECLARED CITY <br />EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Riverside does ordain as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 9.20.090 of the Riverside Municipal <br /> <br />9 Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />" 9.20.090 EMERGENCY SERVICES DIRECTOR. The City <br />Manager shall be the Emergency Services Director and act <br />as the incident commander in a declared City emergency. <br />In the absence, or inability to act, of the City <br />Manager, he shall automatically be succeeded as <br />Emergency Services Director by the following officials <br />in the order named: <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />~5 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />(1) Assistant City Manager; <br />(2) Assistant City Manager-Development; <br />(3) Police Chief; <br />(4) Fire Chief; <br />(5) Public Utilities Director <br />(6) Public Works Director." <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption <br /> <br />19 of this ordinance and cause publication once in a newspaper of <br /> <br />Z0 general circulation in accordance with Section 414 of the <br /> <br />21 Charter of the City of Riverside.
