1 RESOLUTION NO. 827 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF 3 RNERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING 4 PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN THE MERGED DOWNTOWN/AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL REDEVELOPMENT 5 PROJECT AREA (SIERRA VIST A AVENUE SIDEWALK 6 IMPROVEMENTS). WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") 7 desires and intends to pay the cost for the construction and installation of public improvements 8 consisting of sidewalks along the south side of Arlington Avenue between Rutland Street and 9 Van Buren Boulevard ("Improvements") within the Merged Downtown! Airport Industrial 10 Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project Area"); and 11 WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with 12 the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the 13 installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvements that is 14 publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and 15 WHEREAS, the Improvements will consist of design, right-of-way acquisition and 16 construction of missing sections of concrete sidewalks; and 17 WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding 18 neighborhoods; and 19 WHEREAS, the Improvements will provide safe pedestrian access throughout the Project 20 Area and promote the health, safety and welfare of the community; and 21 WHEREAS, the legislative body of the Agency has consented to the Agency's payment 22 of the cost of construction and installation of the Improvements; and 23 WHEREAS, the Agency, with consent of the legislative body, desires to pay the cost for 24 construction and installation of the Improvements as described in this resolution. 25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of 26 Riverside as follows: 27 28 1
