1 RESOLUTION NO. 826 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF 3 RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING 4 PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN THE LA SIERRNARLANZA REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA (LA SIERRA 5 PARK W ALKW A YS). 6 WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") 7 desires and intends to pay the cost for the construction and installation of public improvements 8 consisting of the construction of pedestrian concrete walkways III La Sierra Park 9 ("Improvements") within the La SierraJArlanza Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project 10 Area"); and 11 WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with 12 the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the 13 installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvements that is 14 publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and 15 WHEREAS, the Improvements will consist of the construction of pedestrian walkways to 16 complete improvement in the La Sierra Park; and 17 WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding 18 neighborhoods; and 19 WHEREAS, the Improvements will functionally and aesthetically enhance the park by 20 providing adequate pedestrian walkways and will and promote the health, safety and welfare of 21 the community; and 22 WHEREAS, the legislative body of the Agency has consented to the Agency's payment 23 of the cost of construction and installation of the Improvements; and 24 WHEREAS, the Agency, with consent of the legislative body, desires to pay the cost for 25 construction and installation of the Improvements as described in this resolution. 26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of 27 Riverside as follows: 28 1
