<br /> 1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 825 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING CERTAIN FINDINGS <br /> 4 REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION AND INST ALLA TION OF PUBLIC <br /> IMPROVEMENTS, WHICH ARE OF BENEFIT TO THE ARLINGTON <br /> 5 REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA (ARLINGTON FIRE STATION <br /> REALIGNMENT). <br /> 6 <br /> 7 WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") <br /> 8 desires and intends to pay for a portion of the cost for the construction and installation of public <br /> 9 improvements consisting of the Arlington Fire Station Realignment and Gender Privacy <br /> 10 Improvements ("Improvements") within the Arlington Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project <br /> 11 Area"); and <br /> 12 WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br /> 13 the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the <br /> 14 installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvements that is <br /> 15 publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and <br /> 16 WHEREAS, the lack of Improvements would create an unsafe vehicle circulation and <br /> 17 create an unsuitable appearance to the fire station; and <br /> 18 WHEREAS, the lack of gender privacy and American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) <br /> 19 improvements creates for an outdated safety facility; and <br /> 20 WHEREAS, the Improvements will allow for a modernized fire station, thus allowing <br /> 21 safety staff to be best equipped to serve the community within the Project Area; and <br /> 22 WHEREAS, the Improvements will improve fire protection services and increase vehicle <br /> 23 circulation safety by the improved access to Van Buren Boulevard; and <br /> 24 WHEREAS, the Improvements will enhance the functionality and visual appearance of <br /> 25 the fire station and improve the health, safety and welfare of the community within the Project <br /> 26 Area, thereby benefiting the Project Area; and <br /> 27 <br /> 28 <br /> 1 <br />
