I MEETING LOCATION CHANGE --, City Attorney Priamos announced that an emergency was declared due to a gas main rupture adjacent to City Hall in the vicinity of the Art Pick Council I Chamber. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954(e), as Presiding I Officer, the Mayor designated the Public Utilities Board Room located at 3901 Orange Street as the alternative meeting place. The City Clerk posted the change in meeting place and the press and public present were notified. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE There were no comments presented at this time. AGENCY CONSENT CALENDAR The following item was approved by one motion affirming the action Motion X appropriate to the item. Second X All A yes JOINT ITEM WITH CITY COUNCIL - INCREASE IN COMPENSATION FOR AGENCY BOARD MEMBERS The City Council approved an increase in compensation for Agency Board Members and its Presiding Officer to $100 per meeting. PUBLIC HEARINGS/PLANNING REFERRALS AND APPEALS MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS SALARY AND FRINGE BENEFITS - ORDINANCES INTRODUCED A hearing was called regarding the review of the salary and fringe benefits for the Mayor and Members of the City Council as required by Section 403 of the City Charter. Following discussion, the City Council (1) increased the current salary of the Mayor and the City Councilmembers by five percent; and (2) continued providing for the Mayor and the City Council members the same fringe benefits currently available to the Executive Management employees of the City; whereupon, ordinances entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Riverside, California, Establishing the Level of Compensation for Members of the City Council and Providing Certain Fringe Benefits, and Rescinding Ordinance No. 6639 In Its Entirety", and "An Ordinance of the City of Riverside, California, Establishing the Level of Compensation of the Mayor Motion X and Providing Certain Fringe Benefits and Rescinding Ordinance No. 6640 in Second X Its Entirety," were presented and introduced.
