Adjourned regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Riverside, held <br />in the Council Chamber, City }{all, on Tuesday, January 4, 1999, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. <br /> <br />January <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Dales, presiding; Councilmen Backstrand, Bennett, Chamberlain, Goodspeed, iRoll Call <br /> <br />O'Neill, Smutz and Voris; City Manager King, City Attorney Ford, and City Clerk Waite. <br /> <br />The pledge of allegiance was given to the flag of the United States of America. <br /> <br />Salute to <br />the Flag <br /> <br />A prayer was offered by Mayor Dales. <br /> <br />IInvocation <br /> <br />The minutes of the meeting of December 28, 1954, were read and approved. <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> An Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of Riverside, California, Declaring the <br />Yntention of the City Council to Vacate a Portion of Ninth Street; Referring to Map as to the Portion <br />of the Street Sought to be Vacated; and Setting the Time of Hearing", said hearing being set for Tues- <br /> <br />Ordinance to <br />second reading <br /> <br />..Vacation of <br />per. of 9th St <br /> <br />day, March 1, 1995, at lO:e0 o'clock A.M., was read for the first time; whereupon, it was moved by <br /> <br />Counci]Jrmn O'Neill, seconded by Councilman Smutz, and duly carried, that the said Ordinance be, and <br /> <br />the same is hereby, passed to its second reading. <br /> <br />This motion carried by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilnmen Buckstrand, Bennett, Chamberlain, Goodspeed, O'Neill, ~utz and Voris. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />Absent: None. <br /> <br />It was moved by Counci]~an Backstrand, seconded by Councilman Bennett, and duly carried, Agreement <br /> <br />that the Agreement, dated December 30, 1994, by and between the City of Riverside, a municipal cor- <br />poration, and the United Concrete Pipe Corporation, Box 425, Baldwin Park, California, for furnishing <br />to the City of Riverside, the pipe and fittings for the Water Supply Main to be installed along Jurupa <br />Avenue, from Brockton Avenue to Streeter Avenue, and along California Avenue, from Arlington Avenue to <br />Jefferson Street, for a total price and consideration of $116,181.94, including applicable taxes, be, <br /> <br />approved <br /> <br />United C oncrd~ <br />Pipe Corp. <br /> <br />Water Supply <br />Main <br /> <br />:Jurupa and <br />Calif. Aves. <br /> <br />and the same is hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute said <br /> <br />Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Riverside. <br /> <br />This motion carried by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilm~n Backstrand, Bennett, Chamberlain, Goodspeed, O'Neill, Smutz and Voris. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />Absent: None. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Counci]m-n Backstrand, seconded by Councilman O'Neill, and duly carried, Bond approved <br /> <br />that the Surety Bond of the United Concrete Pipe Corporation, as principal, and the Maryland C, sualty United Con- <br /> ~crete Pipe <br />Company, as surety, in the amount of $28,200.00, for faithful performance of the Contract For the furn- Corp. <br /> <br />ishing of the 36-inch diameter water pipe and Fittings to the City of Riverside, to be installed along <br />Jurupa Avenue, from Brockton Avenue to Streeter Avenue, and along California Avenue, from Arlington <br />Avenue to Jefferson Street, be, and the same is hereby approved and accepted. <br /> <br />Water Su[ply <br />Main <br /> <br />Jurupa and <br />Calif.
