Adjourned regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Riverside, held in <br />the Council Cha~ber, City Hall, on Tuesday, January 6, 1959, at 9:00 o'clock A. M. <br /> <br /> Present: <br /> <br />Smutz and Voris; City Manager Hunter, City Attorney Deegan and City Clerk Strohecker. <br /> <br /> A prayer was offered by Mayor Dales. <br /> <br /> *** <br /> <br /> The pledge of allegiance was given to the flag of the United States of America. <br /> *** <br /> <br /> Upon motion of CounCilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Bergin, and duly carried, the <br /> <br />~January 6, <br />~1959: <br /> <br />Mayor Dales, presiding; Councilmen Backstrand, Bergin, Bonnett, Johnson, O'Neill, !Roll Call <br /> <br /> Invocation <br /> <br />!Salute to <br />ithe Flag <br />Minutes <br /> <br />minutes of the meeting of December 23, 1958, were approved as submitted. <br /> *** <br /> <br /> Ordinance No. 2703 of the City of Riverside, California, mnending Section 4 of Ordinance <br />No. 2438, by rezoning land from Zone P to Zone C-2, Zoning Case R-69-578,-relating to certain property <br />situated on the northeasterly side of Van Buren Boulevard, approximately 330 feet easterly of Magnolia <br />Avenue, was read for the second time; whereupon, it was moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by <br />Councilman Bergin, and duly carried, that the said Ordinance be, and the same is hereby, adopted. <br /> <br /> This motion carried by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />Absent: None. <br /> <br />Councihnen Backstrand, Bergin, Bonnett, Johnson, O'Neill, Smut~ and Voris. <br /> <br />Ordinance <br />No. 2703 <br />adopted <br /> <br />Zoning Case <br />R-69-578 <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />! <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of Riverside, California, Amending Section Ordinance <br /> to second <br />20 of Ordinance No. 583 (New Series)," making First Street, Fourth Street and Mulberry Street through ireading <br /> <br />streets, was read for the first time; whereupon, it was moved by Councilman Bonnett, seconded by Councilman. First, <br />Fourth and <br />Smutz, and duly carried, that the said Ordinance be, and the same is hereby, passed to its second reading. Mulberry Sts. <br /> <br /> This motion carried by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Noes: <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmen Backstrand, Bergin, Bonnett, Johnson, O'Neill, Smutz and Voris. <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> None. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Smutz, seconded by Councihnan Bonnett, and duly carried, that <br /> <br />in consideration of the recoz~mendation of the Purchasing Director, the bid of Walker and Murphy, Route <br /> <br />Box 210, Riverside, being one of three bids heretofore received and opened on D~cember 23, 1958, for <br />furnishing all labor, material and equipment for the Arlington-Monroe Storm Drain lining from Monroe to <br /> <br />Admms Street, Plan D-2, in the amount of $40,767.20, be, and the same is hereby, accepted as the lowest <br />bid received; and that all other bids be rejected, and that the bonds submitted with said rejected bids be <br />released from further liability; and that the City Attorney be authorized to prepare the necessary contract <br /> <br />Bid granted <br /> <br />Walker & <br />Murphy <br /> <br />Arlington- <br />~4onroe Storm <br />Drain <br /> <br />in accordance with the terms of the accepted bid; and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute <br />said contract for and on behalf of the City of Riverside upon approval by the City Attorney of the performance <br /> <br />bonds required in connection therewith. <br /> <br />This motion carried by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: CounciLmen Backstrand, Bergin, Bonnett, Johnson, O'Neill, Smutz and Voris. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />Absent: None. <br /> <br /> <br />
