Lenhoff of the <br />Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at Locust and Tenth <br />Streets. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Jllegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of June 25, 1968, were approved <br />as submitted. <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of <br />John Kortz representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce andi <br />Dr. Robert %weig representing the Arlington and Riverside <br />Chambers of Commerce. <br /> <br />P~ESOLUTIONS <br /> <br /> CHARTER AMENDmeNT - CANVASS OF ELECTION P. ETURNS <br />Resolutmon No. 11040 of the City Council of the City of <br />Riverside, California, Declaring the Result of the Canvass <br />of Election Returns of the Special Municipal Election Held in~ <br />Said City on June 4, 1968, was presented; wherein the pro- <br />posed amendments to Sections 1300~ 1302~ 1304 and 1306 of <br />Charter of the City of Riverside, were declared to have <br />carried; and the titie having bean read~ and further reading <br />waived by the unanimous consent of Councilmen present, was <br />i adopted. Copy of Resolution attached. <br /> <br /> COMMENDATION - BOBBY BONDS <br /> Resolution No. i1041 of the City Council of the City of <br /> Riverside, California, Commending Riverside's Own Bobby Bondsi <br /> for his Record-Shattering, Base-Loaded Home Run During His <br /> First Major League Game, was presented; and the title having <br /> been read, and further reading waived by the unanimous con- <br /> sent of Councilmen present, was adopted. <br /> <br /> MAYOR - U. S. CONFERENCE OF ~[~YORS REPORT <br /> At this point, the Mayor presented his written report on his <br /> attendance at the United States Conference of Mayors, held <br /> in Chicago on Jun~ 12 to 15, 1968, which report covered <br /> points of interest regarding items under discussion by the <br /> Cmty Counczl thms date, relatmng to gun controls, florins, <br /> and a proposed memorial for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in <br /> Atlanta, Georgia. <br /> <br /> MISCELLANEOUS COMMLINICATIONS AND ~EQUESTS <br /> <br /> Mr. Richard S. Fox appeared belora the City Council on behalf~ <br /> of his request for consideration of a passage of a gun regis- <br /> tration ordinance. Other interested persons, bo~h in favor <br /> of the proposed ordinance and those in opposition to such an <br /> ordinance, were given opportunity to be heard.
