'~The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag~ , ~ne Mlnu~es of the Regular and Special Meetings of June I1965~ were approved as submitted~ :The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of I Mr~ Warren Chancy, representing the Riverside Chamber of '~ Commerce~ and Mr. John McManus~ representing the Do%mtow~ '~ Riverside Association~ ~,The City Manager presented the report of the Traffic Engineer i , concerning the use of adult crossing guards for the summer i school program~ recommending that guards be provided at Adams~ ,Monroe~ Casa Bl~nca and Mt, View Schools, Following d~scus- , sion on these and other locations within the City, motion was i mmde that approval be given the placement of guards at the i four schools reco~ended and that the necessary appropriatzon, , from the Contingency Fund be provided for salarieso Motion was made to amend the motion to include I~ing School by providing a guard at Thirteenth Street and Victoria Avenue ~ A roll call vote was then taken on the original motion~ as amended~ ~ith the appropriation approved from the Contingency Fund in the amount of $720~00~ waich in~ Ayes eludes the addition of Irving School. Noes ~l~e City Manager presented a written report and recommenda- tion relating to the proposed establishment of the Pedestrian Mall in Downto~r~ Riverside; Whereupon~ Resolution No~ 10304 of the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 'Declaring Its Intention to Establish a Pedestrian Mall in Sadd City, Setting Forth the Time Within Vsich Claims for Damages by Reason of Such Est~?olishment Must be Filed, De- scribing the District Deemed Benefited by the Establishment of Said Mall and to be Assessed to Pay Damages~ if any, Allowed or Awarded by Reason of Such Est~Diishment~ and Fix- ing the Time and Place for Hearing Protests and Objections to the Establishment of Said Pedestrian_ Mall or the Extent of the District to be Assessed to Pay Such Damages~ or Both~ and Gi~ng No%ice Thereof> was presented; said hearing being fixed for Tuesday~ October 19~ 1965~ at iO~O0 A.M~; and the Motion title having been read~ and further reading waived by the Second unanimous consent cf Councilmen present~ was adopted~ All Ayes A communication was presente~ from Burnell W.
