Oi'TY O~ RIVE~IDE Minutes of Adjourned Hegtular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: J~nuary 7~ 1964 Time of Meeting: 9:00 Place of Meeting: Council Chamber~ Cit~ Hall Roll Call: The Lord's Prayer was recited in unison by the assembly. The Pledge of Allegiance ~ given to the Flag. The Minutes of the Meeting of Dece~er 24~ 196~ were approved as submitted. The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Mr~ Dawson Teaford, representing the Riverside Chamber of Mr, Herman O. Ruhnau appeared before the City Council on behalf of the Riverside Community Hospital, requesting that approval be given a per~it for the installation of a lO-inchi sewer line through Evans Park to connect to the existing 15-inch Trunk M~zin in Brockton Avenue~ Following discussion the request was granted for an Encroachment permit to be issued to the Riverside Community Hospital, subject to eon- dition~ of the City's standard encroachment permit form plus certain ~pecial conditions~ with the understanding that the installation must be completed by March 20, 196~; and exe- cution was authorized and directed. Mr. W~ I~ Parker~ representing Riverside Division of Navistar~ appeared before the City Council regarding the proposed placement of the Navistar Aerodirectory in each of the downtown parking garsges, and presented letters from the Riverside Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Riverside Association favoring the placement of the directories o Following discussion, approval was given an ~reement by and between Navistar Aerodirectory and the City of Riverside providing for the placement of the directories in each of the do~mtown parking garages, subject to provision for a ~0-day cancellation clause and the list of public buildings being subject to the approval of the City Mannger; and exe- cution of the Agreement was authorized and directed. A report was presented from the City Manager and the Public Works Director on determination of the cost of constructing a bridge over the Gage Canal on Horace Stree~ adjacent to proposed Tract 2588; together with a drawing of a proposed box culvert~ backfilled and street paved across the c~vert~ at an estimated cost of $~T40~00~ Following discussion as to how the costs were to be paid~ the subject matter was referred to the City Manager for discussion with the Gage Canal Company. In connection with covering of the Gage Canal, the City Manager was requested to check into the Mary Street Canal Crossing situation~ without formal motion~ A communication was presented fr~ the Gage Canal Company requesting an extension of one year and until October 16, 1964, in which to complete the improvements required under Conditional Use Permit C-6-590, for property located at 7452 Dufferin Avenue° Following discussion, motion was made tha% the subject matter be continued one week~ Fol- lowing a roll call vote~ the Mayor declared the motion not to have carried for lack of a majority vote. o IL EN M~ion , X, All ~es All ~es Motion ~ X ~1 ~s All Second ~ : :X ~es ~X~ ,
