CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Adjourned Regalar Meeting of tf~e City Council <br /> <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />A prayer was offered by Mayor Dales~ <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag~ <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of June 27, 1961~ were approved <br />as submitted, <br /> <br />A request was presented from Sgt. Fran¢,s B, Bolton for a <br />Building Permit to construct a home in a proposed street <br />as shown on a community design plan for the area southerly <br />of Arlington Avenue and easterly of Monroe Street~ being a <br />proposed northerly extension of Toyon Road. Following <br />discussion~ ~otlo~ was made to postpone action and any data, <br />available relating to title to be turned over to the City <br />Attorney who in turn is to give a report to the City <br /> <br />A request was presented from J~ Charles Lord~ and others~ <br />that the Magnolia Center Fire Station property be put in <br />a parking assessment dis~rict~ due to anticipated parking <br />needs for the Brockton Avenue businesses~ Following ~s- <br />cussion~ mozion was made that the property be appraised <br />and the report submitted to the City Council before any <br />further action is taken on the creation of the District~ <br /> <br /> 9~30 A~M~-Hearing was called on the Appeal of Nick <br /> Tavaglione~ Zoning Case V~41-601~ from the decision of the <br /> Board of Zoning Adjustment in not granting his request for <br /> a Variance to eonstruct~ use and ~aintain an office build~ <br /> ing without providing the total number of required parking <br /> <br /> rain required off-~street parking spaces within the re~ <br /> quired front yarm area at 3725 McCray Street~ situated on <br /> the northerly side of McCray Street~ 150 feet westerly of <br /> Brockton Avenue~ in the RO Zone, said hearing was opened <br /> and prcceeded with~ NO prote~ts~ ei%her written or oral~ <br /> were presented~ The Planning Director preser~ted depart~ <br /> <br />recommended that if a Variance was granted~ the following <br />conditions be ~et: (1) The development of the property to <br />be substantially as indicated on the plot plan on file <br />with this case~ and for which the building peri,it was is~ <br />sued~ with the elimination of parking stalls nmmbered 1 <br />end 22~ This per, ts portions of stalls numbered 2 and 21 <br />to encroach into the required front yard area; (2) No less <br />than 20 offstreet parking spaces to ~e provided on the <br />subject property~ (3) A su~, equal to 100 per cent of the <br />assessed land value of' 300 square feet of the lot in lieu <br />of each space required and not p~ovmded shall be paid into <br />the Parking Metar Fund and (k) The granting of this Var- <br /> <br />cuse compliance with al! applicable rules~ r~lations and <br />provisions of laws end ordinances° Following discussion~ <br />the Appeal was sustained~ granting the Variance subject to <br />the conditions as recommended by the Planning Depsrtment~ <br />and allowing the pay~en% into the Parking Meter Fund for <br /> <br />front yard area.
