The Minutes of the Meeting cf Dece~er 27~ 1960, were ap- ,Motion proved as submitted. ,Second ~All Ayes In recognition of the public service rendered by Mrs. Herman Halverson and Mr. John Acheson in promoting better oublic relations through our Sister City affiliation with Sendal, Japan, Mayor Dales presented each with a copy of the Ar~rican Municipal Association Citation for Honorable Mention~ Dablic Relations Progran',~ 1960; whereupon Resolu- tion No. 9028~ e~pressing appreciation to Mrs. Malverson~ ~Motion and Resolution No. 9029~ expressing appreciation to Mr. Second Acheson, were presented and 5dopted. ~All Ayes A report from the Tr~ffic~Enginesr relating to the approval~ by the City Planning Commission of Record of Survey ~78 for~ Charles M. Ross, at ~17~ Fourteenth Street~ wherein one of the conditions of approval was that relocation of traffic , signal facilities shall not be the responsibility of the developer, was presented. Following discussion~it was de-~ termined that the cost of relocating traffic signal f~cili-~ ties be borne by the City; that the property ovmer be given, permission to install a 20' cttrb return and that the esti- ,Motion mated cost to the City of $1,000.00 for their portion of 'Second this project, be appropriated from the ~eneral Fond. Ail Ayes 9:30 A.M.~Hearing was called relative to the petition of Mrs. Carol M. Lewis and Mr. Carol D. Heers~ Zoning Case R-12-601~ to place approximately 7 acres of land in the 3500 and 360o Blocks of Merrill Avenue~ located on the northerly side of Merrill Avenue between Riverside Avenue and the northerly extension of the centerline of De Anza Avenue~ in Zones C-3 and P, and remove the s~me from Zones R-1-65 and P, said hearing was proceeded with. No protests either written or oral~ were presented. Mr. Enos C. Heid~ Attorney at Law~ ~ppe5ring on behalf Of Mr. Walter Lewis, and Mr. Carol D. Heers~ spok~ in favor of the gra~ting of the Petition. The Planning Hirector presented departmen- tal recommendations together with maps of the area. The City Plard/ing Commission h~ving reconuaended granting Of the Petition~ subject to filing of a Record of S~ey or Subdivision Map providing for the proper division of land, the elimination of substandard parcels~ deeds for widening of Merrill and Riverside Avenues in accordance with the 5~ster Plan~ and the in~rove~ent of abutting streets and proposed alleys in accordance with the Subdivision 0rdi- nance, the he,ring was officially closed. The petition was granted subject to the requirements as recommended by the Planning Co~m~ission, with the exception that the eh- ~otion tire parcel of property be placed in the C-3 Zone~ and the Second ordinance was introduced. All Ayes 9:30 A.M.--Hearing was called relative to the petition of the City Planning Conmission~ Zoning Case B-13-601, to place approximately 3½ acres of land located at the north- easterly corner of pennsylvani~ and Sedgwick Avenue, in Zone C-1 and remove the same from Zones C-1 and P~ said hearing was proceeded with.
