RESOLUTION NO. 770 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF <br />THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE DECLARING THAT OWNER-OCCUPIED SINGLE- <br />FAMILY RESIDENCES SHALL NOT BE ACQUIRED BY EMINENT DOMAIN <br />WITHIN THE LA SIERRMARLANZA REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Plan (the "Plan") for the La Sierra/Arlanza <br />Redevelopment Project (the "Project") was adopted on July 13, 2004, pursuant to Ordinance <br />No. 6730 of the City Council of the City of Riverside (the "City Council"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 33450 of the Community Redevelopment Law (Health and <br />Safety Code § 33000 et seq.; the "CRL") authorizes amendments to a redevelopment plan; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside (the "Agency") <br />desires to consider amending the Plan for the Project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Agency desires to formalize its policy to not acquire by eminent <br />domain any single-family residence within the Project that is owner occupied. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of the Redevelopment <br />Agency of the City of Riverside, California, as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1: The Agency hereby establishes its policy that within the La SierraJArlanza <br />Redevelopment Project Area, the Agency shall not exercise the powers of eminent domain to <br />acquire owner-occupied single-family residences. <br /> <br /> Section 2: The Agency hereby directs staff to include this policy in the <br /> <br />Redevelopment Plan during the plan amendment process. <br /> APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26th da~y, 2007 ~ <br /> <br /> Dom Betro, Chairperson of the Redevelopment <br /> Agency of the City of Riverside <br /> <br />Colleen ]/.
