In addition to the General Assembly Gala Celebration held last month,
SCAG is planning other events that will take place throughout Southern California
during the course of the year.

With your help, SCAG ha.,; aggressively pursued regional solutions to issues of
common concern. Our work together hag helped result in such achievements as the
Alameda Corridor, Metrolink Heal the Bay, Salton Sea Authority, to name a few.
SCAG has helped develop unprecedented regional consensus and unity behind a
package of transportation legislative and funding priorities. Finally, SCAG is now
working closely with local leaders to begin the process of implementing a new vision
for how our region can grow and prosper in the future.

We would like to thank the Southern California local governments that have already
sent SCAG resolutions to recognize our forty years of progress. If you have not
already done so, please consider adopting a resolution to commemorate SCAG's
service to the Southern California region. Each resolution represents an important
expression of support for SCAG's mission to resolve regional challenges and plan for
the continued development and prosperity of the six-county, 187-city Southern
California region.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Mark Pisano
Executive Director
Southern California Association of Governments

cc: Mayor
VCity Council
¥City Manager
~'City Attorney

Cc: Ms. Colleen J.
