1 RESOLUTION NO. ]7942 <br /> <br />2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN APPLICATION <br />3 FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT <br /> AND MITIGATION PROGRAM PURSUANT TO SECTION 164.56 <br />4 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE FOR THE HIDDE~ <br /> VALLEY WILDLIFE AREA WETLANDS PROJECT; AUTHORI%ING <br />5 THE FILING OF SAID APPLICATION WITH THE STATE <br /> RESOURCES AGENCY; ACCEPTING SAID GRANT; AND <br />6 AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS. <br />? WHEREAS the Legislature of the State of California has <br />8 enacted AB 471 (Chapter 106, Statutes of 1989) known as the <br />9 Katz-Kopp-Baker-Campbell Transportation Blueprint for the <br />10 Twenty-First Century which added a new Section 164.56 to the <br />11 Streets and Highways Code which allocates ~10 million annually <br />12 for a period of 10 years to the Environmental Enhancement and <br />13 Mitigation Demonstration Program Fund for grant funds to local, <br />14 state and federal agencies and nonprofit entities for projects <br />15 to enhance and mitigate the environmental impacts of modified or <br />16 new public transportation facilities; and <br />17 WHEREAS the Resources Agency has established the <br />18 procedures and criteria for reviewing grant proposals and is <br />19 required to submit to the California Transportation Commission a <br />20 list of recommended projects from which the grant recipients <br />21 will be selected; and <br />22 WHEREAS said procedures and criteria established by the <br />23 Resources Agency require the applicant to certify by resolution <br />24 the approval of the application before submission of said <br />25 application to the State; and <br />26 WHEREAS the application contains assurances with which <br />2? the applicant must comply; and <br />ATTORNEY <br />RIVERSIDE <br />FORNIA <br /> <br /> <br />
