1 RESOLUTION NO. 17926 <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE URBAN WATER <br /> 3 MANAGEMENT PLAN 1990 UPDATE FOR THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITIES. <br />5 WHEREAS the California Legislature enacted Assembly Bill <br />6 797 during its 1983-84 Regular Session to add to the California <br />? Water Code (commencing at Section 10610) the Urban Water <br />8 Management Planning Act ("the Act"), which mandates that every <br />9 urban supplier of water providing water for municipal purposes <br />10 to more than 3,000 customers, or supplying more than 3,000 acre <br />11 feet of water annually, prepare an Urban Water Management Plan <br />12 ("the Plan"), the primary purpose of which is to plan for the <br />13 conservation and efficient use of water; and <br />14 WHEREAS the City of Riverside, through the operations of <br />15 its Department of Public Utilities, is an "urban water supplier" <br />16 within the definitions and provisions of the Act; and <br />17 WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements of the Act, the <br />18 Department of Public Utilities prepared the Plan, the Board of <br />19 Public Utilities of the City of Riverside, after public review <br />20 and hearing on November 15, 1985 adopted the Plan, the City <br />21 Council on December 10, 1985 approved the Plan and directed that <br />22 the Plan be filed with the California Department of Water <br />23 Resources, and the Department of Public Utilities thereupon <br />24 filed the Plan as directed; and <br />25 WHEREAS the Act requires that the Plan be periodically <br />26 reviewed at least once every five years, and that it be amended <br />2? or changed as indicated by the review; and <br />ATTORNEY <br />RIVERSIDE <br />FORNI A <br /> <br /> <br />
