People Serving <br />People <br /> <br /> CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Riverside <br /> <br />Ali-America CRy <br /> <br />HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: September 21, 2004 <br /> <br /> ITEM NO: 9 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Request Approval of the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Grants and Loans <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />In accordance with the provisions of their contract, which was approved by Council on February 4, 2003, <br />Riverside Housing Development Corporation (RHDC) has determined that the following applicant(s) <br />is/are eligible to participate in the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Loan/Grant Programs. This/these <br />applicant(s) is/are as follows: <br /> <br />CURRENT ISSUE: <br /> <br />16-044 Margaret Almendarez 3604 Cortez Street (92504) CW S/G $5000.00 <br /> CW D/L $35,000.00 <br /> <br />Funds will be used to install new shower surround, bathroom window, double sided wall heater, GFCI's, <br />smoke detectors, spark arrestor, and rain cap; replace roof, entry door, carpet, tile flooring and hot water <br />heater; repair all water damaged walls and ceilings and rebuild bedroom closets; remove framing at the <br />back of the house and repair eaves; upgrade electrical and replace panel; and bring unpermitted garage <br />conversion back to a garage. Areas containing lead-based paint, which will be disturbed during <br />rehabilitation, will be abated by a Certified Contractor. <br /> <br />16-072 Mark & Janelle Kepler <br /> <br />3726 Stoddard Avenue (92501) NS D/L $40,000.00 <br /> <br />Funds will be used to paint exterior; replace windows, bathtub, shower, vanity, sub-floor and flooring in <br />the bathroom; demolish unpermitted patio and room addition at rear of property; up-grade electrical; <br />convert garage conversion back into a garage; and install carpet, washer and dryer hookups, central air <br />conditioning, GFCI's, and 20-amp circuit. Areas containing lead-based paint were abated by a Certified <br />Contractor and will not be disturbed. <br /> <br />9-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
