1 RESOLUTION NO. 18416 <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, CERTIFYING THE FINAL <br /> 3 SUPPLEMENTAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR THE <br /> EXTENSION OF CALIFORNIA AVENUE (EPC-9-745(REVISED)), <br /> 4 AND ADOPTING A STATEMENT OF OVERRIDING <br /> CONSIDERATIONS AND THE MITIGATION MONITORING AND <br /> 5 REPORTING PROGRAM PURSUANT TO THE CALIFORNIA <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 WHEREAS the California Avenue Extension was proposed in <br /> 8 the original "general plan" (Major Traffic Street Plan and <br /> 9 Report) of the City of Riverside in June 1929 as an arterial <br /> 10 street between La Sierra Boulevard and Arlington Avenue; and <br /> 11 WHEREAS in 1976, the City of Riverside Public Works <br /> 12 Department proposed the construction of the segment of <br /> 13 California Avenue extending from Collett Avenue at its <br /> 14 intersection with Polk Street, northeasterly approximately 1.6 <br /> 15 miles to California Avenue at its intersection with Van Buren <br /> 16 Boulevard; and <br /> 17 WHEREAS in accordance with the requirements of the <br /> 18 California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), the State of <br /> 19 California CEQA Guidelines ("State CEQA Guidelines") and the <br /> 20 City of Riverside CEQA Guidelines ("City CEQA Guidelines") <br /> 21 (collectively, "CEQA Regulations"), an Environmental Impact <br /> 22 Report ("EIR") was prepared on the proposed extension of <br /> 23 California Avenue from Van Buren Boulevard to Polk Street; and <br /> 24 WHEREAS on March 8, 1977, the City Council of the City <br /> 25 of Riverside determined that the Final EIR prepared for that <br /> 26 project was adequate and complete by certifying said document; <br /> 27 and <br /> <br />Attorney's Office <br />Street <br />CA 92522 <br />782-5567 F: ~WPDATA~RES ~ 94006601.
