CITY COUNCIL <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2024, 1 P.M. <br />City ofArts &.Innovation PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />RIVERSIDE COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION <br />4280 BROCKTON AVENUE, CITRUS ROOMS 1 AND 2 <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson and Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, <br />Conder, Perry, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:04 p.m. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Mike McCarthy spoke regarding the West Campus Upper Plateau project. Malissa <br />McKeith spoke regarding the General Fund Transfer. <br />WOPICCHOP <br />REVIEW CITYWIDE OPERATIONAL WORK PLAN FOR 2024 <br />Following discussion and without formal motion, the City Council conducted a workshop <br />to review and discuss the operational work plan components for 2024 relating to <br />(1) Community Wellbeing; (2) Economic Development; (3) High Performing Government; <br />(4) Art, Culture and Recreation; and (5) Infrastructure, Mobility, and Connectivity. <br />The Mayor and City Council recessed at 3:06 p.m. and reconvened at 3:16 p.m. with <br />Mayor Lock Dawson presiding and all Councilmembers present. <br />CITY COUNCIL IDEAS AND PRIORITIES FOR 2024 BY WARD <br />Following discussion and without formal motion, the Mayor and City Council listed <br />(1) open spaces; (2) public safety; (3) housing and homelessness; (4) Commerce <br />Accessibility; and (5) short and long-term planning as the priorities for 2024. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />ITEMS FOR FUTURE CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />There were no future items requested at this time. <br />The City Council adjourned at 4:42 p.m. <br />
